It is at the bend of the little road climbing towards Biot, just opposite the Les Terraillers Restaurant, that our attention was to be drawn to that charming, freshly painted up, red-brick colour house stating on its façade its "change of ownership". And, what a change! A transformation, a total metamorphosis brought to these parts by Béa Mayle, of German origins (but expressing herself in a charming French) and a quite recent owner. She is clearly an interior designer. So much so that she has known how to instil into this building a soul that was truly lacking until then. The gates barely passed, a superb terrace with a view over the valley reveal garden, swimming pool and terrace furniture in aluminium in "wrought iron style" made in Mexico (from a choice of 30 colours), exclusive in the region, to the owner of the house.

The furniture does not rust and "weigh" heavily due to a wisely kept manufacturing secret allying sand and aluminium. Inside, it is a quite different agenda, and there, Béa Mayle really let herself loose! The manager, Lucas Zeppa and his assistant Joëlle Silvestrini, decided, after many projects and designs, to open a show room of around 160m²,which goes against everything you could imagine having already seen interior decorating on the Côte d'Azur.
"They" take care of everything, I really mean everything, from the ceiling to the flooring, from plumbing to trompe l'oeil painting, from fabric to floor covering and they even planned a "garden and park service" with Mr Jean Mus, the famous architect nurseryman from Cabris. The space "breathes" again: openings were made in the walls and bays designed to let in the sun light generously! As for the walls, they were "treated" either with iron lime in grey beige tones with a finishing "polish", or with brushed lime with large stripes in the same tones. In the first space through which you have to pass, the ceiling is designed with oak beams and old patina style pine panelling, bringing straight away the warmest note into the ambiance.
As for the floor, it presents small blocks called "church" blocks coming from Turkey and two colour faience baseboards from China giving the most beautiful effect. On leaving the second area, there is yet another atmosphere: lift your eyes and you will see small circular or oval "niches" made in trompe l'oeil, blue-sky type, and fibre optics revealing for a short moment a starry sky! Two superb columns invite you, via the third area, to walk down a few stairs and to discover our "falling in love" with this delightful living room dominated by furniture restored, sanded and with an antique style patina (no less than eight layers would have been necessary), by Béa Mayle herself, who, since, became a great specialist in that field.
